OVERVIEW:
A sheltered port accessed via a 2.5 n.m. artificial channel. The port handles coal,
petcoke, petroleum products, chemicals, containers, Ro-Ro and breakbulk cargo. There
is also a shipyard and facilities for military, fishing and leisure craft.
LOCATION:
On the southern shore of the estuary of Rio de la Plata, 27 n.m. SE of Buenos Aires
and 80 n.m. west of Montevideo.
