OVERVIEW:  Regional river port in Chaco province servicing the provincial capital Resistencia (7 Km.) and northeastern interior Argentina.
The port is split into 2 areas, Barranqueras and Puerto Vilelas. Puerto Vilelas being the main industrial area. Adjacent to international Highway Route 11.
Port handles bulk grain and gravel, bulk liquids, breakbulk, containers, general, Ro-Ro and timber. Port handled 500,000 tonnes in 2011.
LOCATION:  Located on the Riacho Barranqueras, a tributary of the river Parana, at Km.1,198, approx. 530 n.m. upriver from Buenos Aires.
Barranqueras:  27° 29.45′ S, 058° 55.53′ W.
Puerto Vilelas:  27° 30.90′ S, 058° 56.12′ W.
