OVERVIEW:
Two privately-operated facilities. Puerto de Lirquen SA in Lirquen handles the import
of containerised and bulk cargoes, including fertiliser, and the export of containerised
and breakbulk cargoes including sawn timber and woodpulp. Muelles de Penco SA operates
a bulk handling facility in the adjacent town of Penco, to the WSW of Lirquen.
LOCATION:
In the SE corner of Bahia de Concepcion, 8 n.m. NNE of Concepcion and 230 n.m. SSW
of Santiago. The cities of Lirquen and Penco are situated in the commune of Penco.
