OVERVIEW:  A naturally sheltered port handling containers, dry bulk, forest products, project and breakbulk cargo
LOCATION:  On the south shore of Jiulong Jiang, 10 km. south of Xiamen and 470 km. ENE of Hong Kong.

ISPS COMPLIANCE:  Port is compliant.
MAX. SIZE:  Channel:  Draft 9.3 m.
Breakbulk:  Depth 12.5 m.
Containers:  Depth 12.4 m.
DENSITY:  1020.
RESTRICTIONS:  Navigation during the hours of darkness is prohibited.
APPROACHES:  The outer approach channel is shared with Xiamen, the channel for Zhangzhou branches off the Xiamen channel approx. 1.5 n.m. east of the port.
PILOTAGE:  Compulsory for all vessels.
Notification:  Vessels should forward ETA and request for pilotage, via agent, at the earliest opportunity. ETA confirmation or amendment should be sent as required.
Boarding:  Pilots usually board in position 24° 24.20′ N, 118° 06.20′ E, approx. 3.0 n.m. ESE of the port. Pilots can also board anchored vessels as required.
