OVERVIEW:
A large port comprising two main areas; Yantai and Yantai Gang Xigangqu. Both port
areas are ice-free throughout the year and able to accept deep-draft vessels. Yantai
is the more established port area and handles dry and liquid bulk, passengers, containers,
timber, Ro-Ro, reefer and breakbulk cargo. Yantai Gang Xigangqu is a more modern port
area, protected by breakwaters and handling dry and liquid bulk, steel and timber.
LOCATION:
Yantai Port lies within Zhifu Bay, 385 km. ESE of Tianjin and 700 km. north of Shanghai.
Yantai Gang Xigangqu lies approx. 30 km. to the NW of Yantai Port, the two are separated
by Taozi Bay.
