OVERVIEW:  Also known as Port of Clarence River. Small river port, handles timber, livestock and breakbulk cargo. Dedicated berths and pontoons available for fishing and leisure craft. Customs and Quarantine authorities classify Yamba as a first port of entry for trading vessels. Management of Yamba port is by Sydney Ports Corporation, which trades as Port Authority of New South Wales.
LOCATION:  At the mouth of the Clarence River on the east coast of Australia, 115 n.m. south of Brisbane. The port of Clarence River (Yamba) is Australia’s easternmost seaport.
PORT LIMITS:  The seaward boundary is a line drawn between the eastern extremity of the northern breakwater (29° 25.52′ S, 153° 22.36′ E) at the entrance to the Clarence River and the eastern extremity of the southern breakwater (29° 25.72′ S, 153° 22.28′ E) at that entrance
