OVERVIEW:
A naturally-sheltered port, handles a range of cargoes including granite, coal, grain,
minerals, iron ore, petroleum products, chemicals, containers, steel, passengers and
breakbulk. The main port areas are Dongdu and Haicang although there are many smaller
facilities in the area.
LOCATION:
Port facilities are located on and around Xiamen Island in Fujian Province, 470 km.
NE of Hong Kong and 700 km. SSW of Hangzhou.
