OVERVIEW:  Private port operated by OneSteel Manufacturing Pty Ltd (trading as SIMEC Mining) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of GFG Alliance. The port consists of four offshore transshipment anchorages (TP1–4), the Outer Harbour comprising one berth and the Inner Harbour comprising three berths. Whyalla handles iron ore, coal, dolomite, limestone, coke and steel products.
LOCATION:  On the western shore of the northern Spencer Gulf, 125 n.m. NNW of Adelaide.

PORT LIMITS:  Bounded by a line joining the following points:
  1. 33° 03.30′ S, 137° 34.20′ E
  2. 33° 06.20′ S, 137° 37.10′ E
  3. 33° 03.70′ S, 137° 40.60′ E
  4. 32° 59.30′ S, 137° 36.10′ E, then following the line of the coast back to origin.
