OVERVIEW:
Private port owned by Koniambo Nickel SA (KNS), a joint venture between SMSP and Xstrata
Cargoes handled include bulk coal, anthracite, limestone, diesel, containers and heavy-lifts.
Port services the local KNS operated mining complex. The port has two berths, the
International Bulk Berth (VP1) and Construction Berth (VP2).
LOCATION:
On the south side of Vavouto Cove and sheltered by reefs, on the west coast, 110 n.m.
NW of Noumea.
