OVERVIEW:
Large multipurpose port covering numerous administrative divisions of Ulsan Metropolitan
City. Cargoes handled include coal, breakbulk, grain, automobiles, petroleum and chemicals
There are several oil refineries served by the port. Details cover facilities in Onsan
and Mipo.
LOCATION:
On the SE coast of the Republic of Korea, 25 n.m. NE of Busan. Ulsan Metropolitan
City is divided into five administrative divisions including four gu (districts) and
one gun (county). Mipo is situated in Dong-gu (Dong district) on the eastern side
of the city and the town of Onsan is situated in Ulju-gun (Ulji county) in the southern
part of the city.
