OVERVIEW:  A naturally sheltered port which, together with the port of Gamagori, forms the Mikawa port area. The port is a major vehicle import and export hub. Other cargoes handled include dry and liquid bulk, liquefied gas, metals, timber and breakbulk.
LOCATION:  At the eastern end of Mikawa Bay on the south coast of Honshu, 65 km. SE of Nagoya and 250 km. WSW of Tokyo.
