OVERVIEW:
A modern, deep-water port handling cargo in support of the Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Company
(FHS) steel plant. Cargoes include imports of coal, iron ore, building materials
scrap metal and petroleum products and exports of steel products. The port is protected
by artificial breakwaters. It is planned the port will become a regional hub serving
northern Vietnam and Laos.
LOCATION:
On the SW shore of the Beibu Gulf, 7.5 km. SSE of Vung Ang and 310 km. south of Hai
Phong.
