OVERVIEW:
One of Venezuela’s largest ports. It consists of an artificially-improved lagoon,
with the commercial facilities in its outer part and a repair yard in its inner part.
Handles dry and liquid bulk, breakbulk, containerised and Ro-Ro cargoes. There is
a naval base on the north side of the harbour. Borburata, just NE of Puerto Cabello,
is the site of a chemical terminal operated by PDVSA.
