Also known as Bahia Portete
OVERVIEW:  Operated by Cerrejon Coal, Puerto Bolivar is one of Latin America's primary coal export facilities. Coal is transported 150 km. from the El Correjon mines by rail. In addition the port handles breakbulk, containers and fuel oil in support of mine and port operations. Port is operational throughout 24 hours, daily except for 01 January.
LOCATION:  At the entrance of Bahia Portete, a natural bay on the north coast of Colombia's La Guajira Peninsula. It is on the Caribbean coast, approx. 350 km. NE of Barranquilla.
