OVERVIEW:
Ponta da Madeira Port Complex (TMPM) is owned, operated and administered by Companhia
Vale do Rio Doce and handles copper concentrate, manganese ore, iron ore and pig iron.
It comprises three piers at Ponta da Madeira and is also connected to Berth No. 105
at the port of Itaqui.

LOCATION:
On the eastern shore of Sao Marcos Bay, on the island of Sao Luis 350 n.m. WNW of
Fortaleza. TMPM is approx. 8 km. south of Sao Luis City, capital of Maranhao State,
to which it is linked by a roadway.
