OVERVIEW:
Port consists of two terminals, the Societe Nationale Industrielle et Miniere (SNIM)
Mineral Pier handling various grades of iron ore, and Terminal des Hydrocarbures handling
petroleum products.
LOCATION:
On the west coast of Mauritania, 8 n.m. south of Nouadhibou (Port Etienne) in a sheltered
bay close to the Morocco/Mauritania border.
The port consists of an oil pier located in position 20° 49.73′ N, 017° 01.83′ W and a mineral pier 0.8 n.m. to the SW in position 20° 48.88′ N, 017° 02.17′ W
