The principal port of Sicily, Palermo handles breakbulk, containers, passengers, Ro-Ro
and petroleum products. Shipyard facilities and small boat harbours are also available
The port of Palermo is a
Core port in the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridor in the European Union's Trans-European
Transport Network.
LOCATION:
On the western shore of the Gulf of Palermo on the north coast of Sicily, 190 km.
west of Messina and 205 km. NW of Syracuse.
