OVERVIEW:  Palenque or Punta Palenque is a Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) facility, operated by the Refineria Dominicana de Petroleo
LOCATION:  The SBM is approx. 2.5 n.m. off Punta Palenque, 20 n.m. SW of Santo Domingo.

MAX. SIZE:  Tankers:  LOA 250 m., draft 14.6 m.
DENSITY:  Salt water.
RESTRICTIONS:  None, except in the case of extreme weather conditions.
PILOTAGE:  Compulsory, can be arranged throughout 24 hours. Pilot boards approx. 1 n.m. SW of the SBM, from a small tug having black hull and white superstructure. Pilot vessel operates on VHF Channels 16 and 14.
TUGS:  Available and compulsory. A tug is arranged to be moored to the ship's stern for the full duration when vessel is moored to
