BEOST

OVERVIEW:  A sheltered port specialising in short sea traffic. The port comprises a mixture of tidal and non-tidal berths. Cargoes handled include dry and liquid bulk, Ro-Ro, offshore forest products, project, breakbulk and passengers.
The port of Ostend is a Core port in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
LOCATION:  At the entrance to the Bruges-Ostend Canal, 22 km. WSW of Zeebrugge and 45 km. ENE of Dunkirk.
