OVERVIEW:
Sheltered haven within 1.0 n.m. of the sea; road and rail links provide Montrose with
access to the heartland of Scotland. Equipped to handle a broad variety of cargoes,
including timber, paper, scrap metal, fertiliser, grain and project cargoes. Extensive
storage facilities comprise both open ground for general storage or fabrication and
repair work, and warehousing for long-term use or as transit sheds. The port is also
home to an extensive offshore supply base.
LOCATION:
On the east coast of Scotland, 14 n.m. north of Dundee and 25 n.m. south of Aberdeen
within the mouth of the river South Esk.
