OVERVIEW:
One of the districts of Kitakyushu city and part of the Port of Kitakyushu. Handles
mainly general, containerised and Ro-Ro cargoes. A passenger ferry terminal and vehicle
distribution centre are located just south of Moji at Shinmoji.
The main port area of the Port of Kitakyushu includes the districts of Kokura, Tobata,
Yawata, Wakamatsu and Hibikinada.
LOCATION:
In Fukuoka Prefecture on the northern tip of Kyushu and a district (ward) of Kitakyushu
city. Moji lies at the eastern entrance to Kanmon-kaikyo (Kanmon Strait), which connects
the Inland Sea with the Sea of Japan.
