OVERVIEW:
Small port set over two areas; Umedo Ko and Hyakka-Ko. Handles log exports, some dry
cargo and liquid bulk for the local chemical industry.
LOCATION:
In Kumamoto prefecture on the western coastline of Kyushu, Minamata is on the Yatsushiro
Sea and faces the Amakusa islands.
