OVERVIEW:
A naturally sheltered harbour containing one of the UK's primary tanker ports, comprising
one refinery, two LNG terminals and two tank storage terminals. Also within the harbour
are Pembroke Port and Milford Docks. Pembroke Port handles Ro-Ro passenger ferries
along with dry bulk, Ro-Ro and breakbulk cargo. Milford Docks comprises a non-tidal
basin handling fishing and leisure craft and a drydock.
LOCATION:
In SW Wales, 35 km. SSW of Fishguard and 130 km. WNW of Cardiff. The oil and gas terminals
are on the north and south sides of the harbour, 2.0–5.5 n.m. east of the entrance.
Milford Docks are on the north side of the harbour, 4.0 n.m. from the entrance. Pembroke
Port is at the eastern end, approx. 7 n.m. from the entrance.
