OVERVIEW:
Port handles dry and liquid bulk, containers, passengers, Ro-Ro, offshore and general
cargo. Offshore facilities in Luanda Bay are available for tankers
Exports include petroleum, iron ore and fish products, imports include
steel, machinery, flour and coal.
LOCATION:
On the SE shore of Luanda Bay in NW Angola, 170 n.m. SSE of the mouth of the River
Congo.
PORT LIMITS:
Defined by a line between Ilha do Cabo Light (08° 45.63′ S, 013° 15.78′ E) and the Fortaleza de Sao Pedro da Barra (08° 46.40′ S, 013° 17.17′ E). Ships anchored within Luanda Bay to the south of this line are considered an
``arrived vessel''.
