OVERVIEW:  A modern and highly-automated container port with its own rail terminal and excellent transport links. The deep-water berths and Super post-Panamax gantry cranes are able to handle some of the largest container vessels in the world. The port has a maximum capacity of 3,500,000 TEU annually.
LOCATION:  On the north bank of the river Thames, 12 km. ENE of Tilbury and 42 km. east of central London.
