OVERVIEW:
A sheltered port which makes extensive use of reclaimed land and where expansion is
still ongoing. Cargoes handled include containers, alumina, coke, coal, ore, grain
chemicals, petroleum products, liquefied gas, metal products and breakbulk. The port
is divided into the two main areas of Lianyungang, sometimes known as Lianyungang
Guanyun, and Xu Wei, sometimes known as Lianyungang Xuwei.
LOCATION:
Lianyungang lies on the southern shore of Haizhou Wan, 170 km. SSW of Qingdao and
430 km. NNW of Shanghai. The Xu Wei port area is approx. 20 km. SE of Lianyungang.
