OVERVIEW:  Comprising the main port area of Kunsan as well as facilities at Jang Hang. The main port consists of sheltered multipurpose berths built mainly on reclaimed land while Jang Hang comprises conventional berths on the north side of the river. Kunsan, also known as Gunsan, handles dry bulk, containers, petroleum products, Ro-Ro, LPG, forest products, Ro-Ro, fish and breakbulk cargo. Shipyard facilities are also available. The Kunsan Free Trade Zone (GFTZ) operates within the port. Port development and expansion is ongoing.
LOCATION:  At the mouth of the Geum River on the west coast, 61 n.m. south of Pyeong Taek and 73 n.m. north of Mokpo.
