OVERVIEW:  A multipurpose port, handles Ro-Ro, containers, passengers, fish and breakbulk cargo. Cargo and passenger ferry services operate from the port to destinations in Norway, Iceland, Scotland (UK), Russia and the Faroe Islands. Hirtshals is home to a larger cluster of service companies that perform maritime services on almost all types of vessels. Hirtshals comprises several basins, all of which are protected by breakwaters.
The port of Hirtshals is a Comprehensive port in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
