OVERVIEW:  A regional hub port handling containers, dry bulk, liquid bulk, liquefied gas, Ro-Ro and breakbulk cargo. The port is operated by Hambantota International Port Group and Hambantota International Port Services, both of which were established by Sri Lanka Ports Authority and China Merchants Port Holdings Company
LOCATION:  On the south coast of the country, 164 km. SE of Colombo and 270 km. south of Trincomalee.
