OVERVIEW:  Greymouth is home to a reasonable sized fishing fleet, with significant landings of tuna and hoki. Greymouth is only a domestic port with no international shipping, and no capability to deal with international shipping
LOCATION:  Central west coast of New Zealand's South Island. Approx. 175 km. NW of Christchurch.

APPROACHES:  The harbour is situated at the entrance to the Grey River and the port is entered across a sand bar, between two breakwaters. The berthing facilities, for vessels with LOA up to 65 m., are available 1 n.m. above the entrance on the south side of the river. Additional berthing, for vessels with LOA up to 30 m., is available in the port lagoon to the southern side of the Grey River
