OVERVIEW:  A naturally sheltered port handling a range of cargoes including dry and liquid bulk, containers, reefer, passengers, Ro-Ro and project. Primary cargoes are fertiliser, machinery, construction materials, vehicles, wind farm components and cruise passengers.
LOCATION:  To the SW of the entrance to Galveston Bay, 45 miles SE of Houston and 185 miles NE of Corpus Christi.
