OVERVIEW:  Florida's northernmost natural deep-water seaport, serving the SE United States and Gulf states. Major metropolitan areas served are Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Atlanta, New Orleans and Houston. As the most western port on the Atlantic, the port also serves the Midwest and Great Lakes Region. The port is a general cargo terminal, specialising in forest and steel products, and also has a container terminal facility.
LOCATION:  NE coast Florida. St Mary's Entrance, between Jacksonville, Florida and Brunswick, Georgia. On the western inlet off Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.
