OVERVIEW:  The port has one of the largest LNG export terminals in the world. Containerised dry and liquid bulk and breakbulk cargoes also handled. Adjacent to Damietta FTZ and less than 10 km. from Damietta industrial zone.
LOCATION:  Approx. 70 km. WNW of Port Said and 200  km. east of Alexandria on the northern coast of Egypt. Access is via a man-made entrance channel from the north. The port is linked to the River Nile by a navigational channel.
Total area of Damietta port is 11.8 sq.km. comprising 3.9 sq.km. water area and 7.9 sq.km. land area.
