OVERVIEW:  Coryton Refinery ceased production in June 2012. The site is being developed into a bulk liquids distribution terminal and called Thames Oil Port.
This entry should be read in conjunction with supplementary and pilotage information provided in our London entry.
LOCATION:  Left bank of the River Thames, SE England, approx. 22 n.m. upstream of the seaward limit of Port of London.

PILOTAGE:  Berthing Pilots:  All vessels of 11,000 g.t. and over, bound for jetties in the Coryton area are required to employ the services of a Berthing Pilot (drawn from senior PLA Pilots). The Berthing Pilot will normally board the vessel from one of the berthing tugs.
