The port comprises an outer harbour protected by a breakwater and an inner harbour
with
facilities on the Chuyahoga and Old Rivers. Cargoes handled include containers,
breakbulk, steel, petroleum products, ore, aggregates, cement and cereals.

On the southern shore of Lake Erie, 80 n.m. SE of Detroit and 150 n.m. SW of the Welland
Canal.
