OVERVIEW:
A multipurpose port built on large areas of reclaimed land, handling over 100 million
tonnes of cargo annually. Port facilities are split between three harbour basins and
a group of outer berths. Caofeidian and the nearby port of Jingtang are sometimes
collectively referred to as Tangshan Port. Cargoes handled include iron ore, salt,
coal, steel, containers, breakbulk, forest products, crude oil and liquefied gas.
LOCATION:
On the NW shore of the Bohai Sea in NE China, 115 km. ESE of Tianjin and 215 km. SE
of Beijing.
