OVERVIEW:  Port handles dry and liquid bulk, LPG, project and breakbulk cargo. Port comprises operating areas within the Kiel Canal (Brunsbuettel and Ostermoor) and on the River Elbe (Elbehafen)
The port of Brunsbuettel is a Comprehensive port in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
LOCATION:  At the SW end of the Kiel Canal; at the intersection of the Kiel Canal and the River Elbe. Most of the port facilities are located on the Kiel Canal, Elbehafen is located on the north bank of the Elbe, 2 km. east of the canal locks.
