FRBAY

OVERVIEW:  A multipurpose river port, Bayonne handles dry and liquid bulk, passengers, breakbulk forest products, metals and Ro-Ro cargoes. Exports include maize, sulphur, timber and chemical products. Imports include bauxite, phosphates, timber, steel, fertiliser, methanol and chemical products. Facilities for cruise vessels are located close to the city centre.
The port of Bayonne is a Comprehensive port in the European Union's Trans-European Transport Network.
LOCATION:  On the SE shore of the Bay of Biscay on the Adour River, 30 km. from the border with Spain.
