OVERVIEW:
A multipurpose river port, Bayonne handles dry and liquid bulk, passengers, breakbulk
forest products, metals and Ro-Ro cargoes. Exports include maize, sulphur, timber
and chemical products. Imports include bauxite, phosphates, timber, steel, fertiliser,
methanol and chemical products. Facilities for cruise vessels are located close to
the city centre.
