OVERVIEW:  The Port of Albany is the largest inland port in the NE United States. The port consists of nearly 400 acres on the east and west sides of the Hudson River across three municipalities including Albany, Bethlehem and Rensselaer. Cargoes handled include dry and liquid bulk, breakbulk, project and containers.
LOCATION:  On the Hudson River, 126 n.m. north of New York City.

PORT LIMITS:  The Albany Port District is divided into Lower Harbor and Upper Harbor. Lower Harbor comprises the water area from 0.2 n.m. below the entrance to Island Creek (in position 42° 36.48′ N, 073° 45.83′ W) to 1.9 n.m. above. Upper Harbor
