An ice-free port located on the Baltic coast, approx. 102 n.m. WSW of Riga and approx. 55 n.m. north of Klaipeda. The port of Liepaja handles general cargo, steel, steel products, timber, Ro-Ro, mineral fertilisers, dry cargo and liquid cargo. One ship repair plant offers shipbuilding and ship repair services. Two cargo-passenger ferry lines operate in the port.

Corpus Christi is a multipurpose port, the sixth largest US port and deepest inshore port on the Gulf of Mexico. It handles mostly oil and agricultural products. Facilities are located on the NE side of Corpus Christi Bay and along the 7.5 n.m. Corpus Christi Ship Channel. Also handles general cargo, containers and passengers and is also a supply base for offshore vessels.
