Mackay, on the east coast of Australia between Brisbane and Cairns, has commercial facilities for petroleum, bulk sugar and grain, molasses, breakbulk, scrap metal, general cargo and chemicals. Mackay region is the largest sugar producing area in Australia and has one of the world’s largest bulk sugar terminals. The port includes a 479 berth marina for leisure craft.
