Imbituba is located in an open inlet in the southern Brazillian state of Santa Catarina, 373 n.m. from Santos and 307 n.m. from Rio Grande.
It is a private port which main exports include general, reefer cargo, bulk and wood pulp. Imports include general, liquid and bulk cargoes, paper and glass. The inner port area is protected by an 850 m. breakwater.
