OVERVIEW:
A major industrial port comprising the districts of Kokura, Tobata, Yawata, Wakamatsu,
Hibikimachi and the Shirashima Oil Storage terminal. The port handles dry bulk, containers,
passengers, Ro-Ro, breakbulk, forest products, crude oil, petroleum products, chemicals
and liquefied gas.
LOCATION:
In northern Kyushu on the Kanmon Strait, 55 km. NE of Fukuoka and 175 km. west of
Matsuyama.
