OVERVIEW:
A sheltered port constructed on large areas of reclaimed land. Cargoes handled include
dry bulk, petroleum products, LNG and breakbulk. There are also facilities handling
Ro-Ro passenger ferries, cruise ships, fishing boats and leisure craft.
LOCATION:
On the western shore of Kagoshima Bay in southern Kyushu, 220 km. south of Fukuoka
and 570 km. SW of Osaka.
