The United States of America is situated mostly in central North America, between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. The state of Alaska lies in the northwest of the North American continent, with Canada to the east and Russia to the west (separated by the Bering Strait). The state of Hawaii is lies in the mid-Pacific Ocean.
