UK ports Kirkwall and Hull newly amended

Kirkwall

Kirkwall port comprises of Kirkwall Pier and Hatston Terminal and is located on the north coast of Mainland (island) within Wide Firth and Shapinsay Harbour area. The port handles bulk, general, livestock, fuel oils and passengers.

Minor port information changes are available for Kirkwall under VHF, VTS/radar, tugs, waste disposal and slops disposal.

 

Hull

Hull is located on the north bank of the River Humber, on the mid east coast of the country.

It is a multipurpose port and one of the UK’s leading foreign-trading ports. Regular short-sea services operate to Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic states, as well as worldwide deep-sea connections. Hull is the UK’s leading softwood timber-handling port and regularly handles in excess of 1.5 million cu.m. of timber per annum, in addition to large volumes of other forest products. The Port of Hull is the only passenger port on the Humber, handling nearly one million passengers per year. Also handles containers, dry and liquid bulk, fresh produce, metals and Ro-Ro.

A single amendment is available for the port of Hull; Information regarding future developments at the port has been expanded.
