Major amendments to Vancouver, Canada, available

Posted: 1st August 2011

Port Metro Vancouver is Canada's largest and most diversified port, located on Canada's Pacific coast just north of the border with the USA.

It is a safe, year-round, all-weather, naturally deep harbour that requires no dredging. Well-situated the port is North America's gateway to the world's most dynamic economies, offering post-Panamax capacity, deep-draft berths and connections to extensive dock rail facilities.

Bulk cargoes account for 70% of the port's throughput; coal, sulphur, potash grain, woodchips and petro-chemicals are typical commodities. Breakbulk forest products and steel account for 10% of total cargo volume, and containers 20% of the total throughput.

Find the latest changes for Vancouver under the following headings: ovrview, charts, port limits, documents, ISPS compliance, density, pilotage, anchorages, pratique, VHF, VTS/radar, tugs, berths, facilities (bulk, container, other, passenger and tanker), cranes, pollution, waste disposal, medical, fuel, surveyors, consuls, conections, telephones, customs, shore leave, seaman's clubs and developments.

The plans have also been improved.
