Shipping Guides editorial team have reviewed the latest information available prior to the earthquake and have updated the information held for the ports of Cap Haitien, Govaines, Miragoane and Port-au-Prince.

Within the Port-au-Prince entry, there is an Editor's Report relating to what we have managed to substantiate with regard to operational port facilities post the earthquake. We do not at this time know the operational capabilities of Miragoane, but believe them to probably be destroyed as the port is nearest to the epicentre.

The American Sealift will be using Cap Haitian as its main sealift port with Port-au-Prince and northern terminals/ports handling what aid can be moved ashore at each location.

The UN sealift will also be lifting cargo through the SW Dominican ports of Santo Domingo and Barahona, plus minor operational ports located on that stretch of coast.

Ship's Officers/Masters that have experience of any of these ports post the earthquake, please forward details to Shipping Guides, so that we may post further updates for the shipping world.
