New port information available for Giurgiulesti, Moldova

Giurgiulesti is Moldova's main port handling international traffic, being a free port zone. Regional logistics hub due to location with close proximity to Romania and the Ukraine. The port has three operational terminals, one handling petroleum products, one handling bulk grain and one passengers. There are three terminals under construction that should be operational at the end of the first quarter of 2011. They are dry cargo/containers, bulk, breakbulk and general cargo. Total port area will be 1,200,000 sq.m. The passenger terminal is operated by a government organisation. Rail sidings throughout the port's waterfront.
